The Wildlife Proclamation

10 Scottish wildlife conservation organisations have put together a Wildlife Proclamation. This aims to raise the profile of nature conservation amongst Members of the Scottish Parliament and to identify potential wildlife champions that we can work with to make Scotland a better place for wildlife.

This website shows the MSPs that we have contacted and those that have signed the proclamation. You can search by name, constituency or postcode to find out which of your MSPs have pledged to work for wildlife.

So far 19 out of 129 MSPs have signed the pledge.

The Proclamation

MSPs were encouraged to sign a proclamation to do all they can to help stop and reverse the loss of wildlife. The proclamation reads:

I pledge that I will endeavour to retain the colour, variety and vitality of Scotland by conserving wildlife and restoring habitats.
I fully support the following statements:
1. Scotland's wildlife and landscape defines who we, the people of Scotland, are.
2. Investing in the conservation of our wildlife today secures a sustainable environment on which our cultural and economic future depends.
3. Conserving wildlife is an effective way to build Scotland's resilience to climate change.
4. Parliament should scrutinise the delivery of wildlife conservation to ensure its success.
